From Neil Boortz' site:

To understand the greatness of Martin Luther King, Jr. all you have to do is compare him to the leading civil rights leaders of today, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

Need I say more?

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day, everybody.

Well, amazingly enough, I survived the weekend. There's been a cold snap here in the OC, and I don't mean just cold, I mean COLD.

It dropped into the low 30s all weekend.

Yesterday - Sunday - I went to work at the usual time. Now, there's a strawberry field near the parking lot. When I got there at 10am, I noticed that the fence had ice on it. The sprinklers had been on, and the water froze on the metal links. More water got sprayed on it, and had formed runners that had also frozen, like icicles. But several of the spaces were completely iced over. Because the links are square, it looked like one of those glass cube walls. And this was at 10am.

Awhile later, I went to turn on the fountains. In several of them, the water had frozen...not much, only a fraction of an inch, but enough to be visible and support some dirt and leaves. And it was 11:30am when I turned on the fountains.

Can you dig that? Ice in the fountains at 11:30am. In SoCal!

Fortunately, the employees had the sense to move the brass monkeys indoors.

Still no word from the ex. I think she's decided to accept it.

Heard an odd beeping in my room. I had quite a time figuring out where it was coming from. Then I found it. I have an extra remote to my car, and the battery was dying. I replaced it, and no more beeping - after it played "Jingle Bells".

Maybe it's got a temp sensor in it...

===

It's a bit warmer today. It actually may get into the 50s by now.

The window blinds are open to let the sun in. Maybe I can go have lunch in the living room without having my toes completely retreat into my body.

Keep warm and safe, y'all.

Be seeing you.
