Don't Tell Me Lies

2007-03-06 - 10:27 a.m.

Had a brief allergy attack ( I think) yesterday. I think it was an allergy attack because I feel much better today. All I had was a sore throat and some sneezing. I took the Claritin equivilent and felt better after sleeping.

I hate being sick.

Brin's still recovering - the sneezing has stopped, but her throat still won't allow for studio work. We did a search at weather.com and found that the tree pollen count is high...and has been high for the last few days.

Mystery solved.

Got an e-mail purportedly from PayPal saying that I had paid almost $130 for a cell phone. A pink Razor, of all things.

There were a few things that told me it was a fake:

  • No PayPal graphics at all
  • Blatant spelling errors (for instance, I could click a link in case I wanted to "dispute tranzaction")
  • The address linked to the "dispute tranzaction" is in Taiwan - the .tw suffix in the address told me so

Then there's the standard thing of "we use your user name, not 'Dear Paypal Member' ".

Brin told me she got one addressed to "Dear Costumer". It's sad that some people are that gullible.

We're discussing lunch plans. Nothing else too exciting happening here.

Be seeing you.
