More house cleaning and laundry. Today I have to head to the post office to get a CD I ordered. Also, I'm going to the laundromat to wash some big items...which means lunch at the cheap Chinese place nearby.

A couple in Sweden are refusing to work, insisting that it's their "right" to live off the welfare state...and they're mad because their benefits got reduced. There aren't any health issues that prevent them from working - they simply don't want to:

"Conventional work is out of the question for me - both in terms of my conscience and on an intellectual level - as it seems objectionable with regard to both my personal well-being and the well-being of society as a whole. Emotionally too it creates unbearable pain and dejection," [the husband] wrote.

I was on welfare for five years because of my husband leaving me while pregnant and I had no choice. Why anyone would want to live like that long term is still beyond me. I love that I have been working my way off government aid to being an even better stable and contributing taxpayer. Taking the handout, no matter how much it has been needed, has always been a humiliation to me.
