Do It Or Die

2007-09-18 - 12:02 p.m.

Today on my Weather Channel desktop thingie, there's a severe weather alert. Seems there's a storm moving in that may bring winds and rain to sunny SoCal.

When is this storm due to arrive? Late Thursday night...which is when I'll be at the baseball game.

After all the rigamarole I went through to get my schedule cleared, I'm gonna be torqued if the game is rained out. I'll just hope that "late" means "after 11pm".

A Muslim dentist in the UK refused to treat a patient unless she wore a headscarf. This happened two years ago, and the charges are just now being processed.

There's also this:

According to the charges, Mr Butt "asked to speak to Patient A in private.

"In the course of conversation with Patient A you: (a) asked whether she was Muslim; (b) told her words to the effect that, in order to receive treatment from you, she needed to wear appropriate Islamic dress; (c) quoted to her parts of the Ahadith."

The Ahadith is a series of instructions on behaviour attributed to Prophet Mohammed but not written as part of the Koran.

Two things here - what if a Christian dentist refused to treat a patient unless the patient received communion and listened to readings from the Bible? Second, this is a dentist for the NHS - the National Health Service. He told the patient to wear a headscarf or "go elsewhere" - as in, be assigned to another dentist. Which means a waiting list.

And this is what Hillary wants us to have.

Speaking of government control:

Hugo Chavez is threatening to have the government take over all private schools if they don't go along with Venezuela's new education system.

"We're from the government. We know better than you do - about everything. We know what's best for your children. We know how to spend your money better than you do. We're here to help."

Wonder if Cindy Sheehan is noticing all this.

===

And speaking of Sheehan:

Muslim terrorist leaders are "thankful" for her efforts.

Lovely.

Well, time to get going. I have things to do and people to see...and laugh at.

Be seeing you.

It's a bit of a leap to go from national health care to Muslim doctors insisting patients observe Islamic dress codes.
