One Thing Leads To Another

2008-01-03 - 11:38 a.m.

Well, I survived my trip to the ophthalmologist. They had to dilate my eyes - always fun - and then he shined a BRIGHT light into my eyes to check my retinas. No pictures - this was a let's-look-and-see exam. The news is good - my retinas are fine for another year. And the air pressure in my eyeballs is where it should be. And my blood pressure is down to 125/80.

Then I got to drive to work with dilated eyeballs. Thankfully, I have good sunglasses.

And now, your NewsBits:

Well, it finally happened - oil hit $100/barrel.

Gee...a year ago the Democrats were saying they'd lower gas prices if we elected them.

But remember - the price of raw materials and supply/demand have nothing to do with anything. It's all Bush's fault.

===

Egad - the New York Times actually printed this article on AGW skepticism.

Maybe the cold weather affected them.

===

Remind me not to fly JetBlue.

From the You Can't Make This Stuff Up Dept.:

From FARK.com comes this item - employees at a factory are complaining about the pop-pop-pop noise coming from a neighboring police shooting range. Understandable, perhaps...till you see what is made at the factory.

Go look. Then shake your head.

===

Onward to the day.

Be seeing you.

That Jet Blue thing is so crazy! What a horrible experience for that poor lady. I am so surprised, I love Jet blue. We have flown only twice but both times it was awesome. The kids love the TVs in the headrests. I'd still fly with them, I'm sure it was just the employee, I hope they fired her!

And don't forget, Hillary says the oil magnates will be so impressed with her *commitment* to alternative energy sources that they'll lower oil prices just to win public favor. Of course, Mitt Romney apparently credited GWB with ending our dependence on foreign oil, and in the next breath or two, bemoaned high oil prices ...

I think the AGW article got by because it talks about the human tendency to be alarmed, and not the usual good science/bad science dust-up. Hmm. But if tossing Jonah overboard worked, maybe we need to throw Al Gore in the drink ...?
