I Feel Good

2008-02-07 - 11:06 a.m.

Brin's going to trim my hair and finish packing. Then she'll be watching her soap opera while I hide in the bedroom. Once she's done, we'll have Papa John's before I take her to the airport for her trip home.

Don't worry - we'll make sure someone meets her in San Francisco.

Are you folks sure we can afford for the government to pay for your health insurance? The Massachusetts plan - touted as the model for a nationwide version - is expected to go $400 million over budget. Where will that money come from? The taxpayers, of course.

Part of the problem was, they underestimated how many people would sign up for the health care subsidy. Think about that - they actually thought people who were eligible for something free WOULDN'T sign up for it. If the weensy state of Massachusetts could underestimate that badly, what will happen if it's done across the nation? After all, the original cost of Medicare was underestimated - by BILLIONS.

Suuuuuuuuuuuuure we can afford it.

It looks like Hillary is in for some long-term trouble before her coronation...er, nomination.

This cheers me up tremendously. I've said this before, and I will continue to say it: I have no problem with a woman president - none at all.

Just not her.

Okay, I have a haircut to get. And I don't want her feeling rushed to get it done before her soap opera.

You understand.

Be seeing you.

I'm with you. At this point, I will vote for anyone who is NOT Hillary Clinton.

Dave and I don't exactly share the same politics, but we're agreed on this item. I ain't voting for Hillary Clinton. If she gets the nod, I'm finding someone else to vote for. Besides, I'm innately distrustful of someone who doesn't look the camera in the eye and does this carnival-huckster nod as she pitches her points. (Oh, and by the way - to all you Hillary drones out there - since I'm a Democrat and live in California, I've routinely voted for two women as our senators, so don't give me this 'you just don't want a woman in the White House' crap. You want me to judge on basis of the issues and character, not gender, right? I'm doing that. Too bad if it don't frost your cupcakes the way you like 'em.)
