Woke up to rain this morning. It's supposed to continue for a couple days. So much for the eclipse.

Just one more reason not to like Islam: a 70-year-old Iranian man was sentenced to four months in jail and thirty lashes. His crime? Walking his dog. Evidently Islam considers dogs to be "impure".

A religion that hates dogs? How can there be such a thing?

And over here we have a story of a man who has been arrested for the fifteenth time for "human smuggling" (bringing illegal aliens in from Mexico). He's already been deported FOURTEEN times. And he's only 22.

We need to lock down the borders. Problem is, none of the candidates want to do it.

Over on Hud's blog (link at left) there's a link to some businesses that, when it came to names, chose...poorly.

We've got one right near the Albertson's where I get my groceries. You'd think someone would have told them that "Ho Toys" was NOT a good name for a Chinese restaurant.

They're just using "Islam" as an excuse to control their populace. Other dictatorial states have had similar things, and in the name of 'religion', too. Don't pin that on Islam - pin that on totalitarianism.

Please identify said dictatorial states, the policies against dog walking, and the religious grounds used to justify the decision. I'm not a big fan of Phear Islam, but "somebody else did it before this" is a really crappy excuse. --- As for Chinese restaurant names, I don't know if CHAOS (Chao's) Chinese Food is still out there by Disneyland in Anaheim ...
