I'm O. K.

2008-08-07 - 11:10 a.m.

I didn't sleep too well. Too many things happening at work and such.

I'm okay, though.

Nancy Pelosi has responded to the protest by House Republicans, who stayed on to debate gas prices and what could be done.

Note:

The Speaker adjourned last week amid loud cries from the GOP who wanted to end the day with routine, 5 minute speeches. Most of Republicans were planning to use the time to criticize Pelosi for letting the House go into recess without doing anything to increase the domestic energy supply through offshore drilling.

Rather than let the Republicans do that, Pelosi unexpectedly turned off their microphones, ordered CSPAN cameras to shut down and dimmed the Houses lights.

Yeah, she's from a Nanny State - she's got that "you will not talk to me that way" vibe.

She also said that the Democrats "will continue to demand that the President release oil from our nation's stockpile to provide immediate relief in 10 days, unlike the McCain-Republican-Big Oil plan that lowers prices at the pump by 2 cents in 10 years."

As soon as Bush announced he had lifted the executive ban on off-shore drilling, gas prices started going down as oil prices fell. Here where I am, they've dropped by 30 cents. If we announce we're going to start drilling, prices will drop further. And, hard as it is to believe, things could have been much much worse.

I guess Pelosi has other things on her mind.

Came across an interesting website called Deceiver.com that highlights celebrity hypocrisy.

Here's a fine example. Make sure you're sitting down and NOT drinking anything.

You have been warned.

I'll try for a nap, maybe.

Be seeing you.
