Old Salty Dog Blues

2008-11-26 - 11:21 a.m.

Well, the rain finally came, at about 10:30 last night. And it rained for the next five hours I was awake. I had the TV on for a bit, but I had to turn it off - there were flash flood warnings coming on literally every fifteen minutes, and the tones used by the "emergency broadcast system" just got to be grating.

Right now, the rain has stopped. It's very gray outside. The skies look threatening.

But according to the paper, the rain is supposed to stop for the weekend. That'll give the ground a chance to soak up what's already come down, and hopefully slow the chance of mudslides.

This morning, I woke at about 9am, and couldn't fall back asleep. Now I'm starting to feel a bit drowsy. I'll probably crawl back in and take a nap before work.

In reference to the cyber-mom case I mentioned yesterday, over here is the Fark comments thread for that story.

Some are arguing in the mom's favor. Interesting reading.

For you fans of Weebl and Bob, there's a new item in their store.

Too expensive for me right now. Maybe after Christmas. No rush.

Can't think. Brain too tired.

Back to bed.

Be seeing you.
