Time In A Bottle

It's December 1, 2008. Where did the time go?
I've been re-reading the fifth book of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Early on, a proverb is remembered: "Time is a face on the water."
King's right about that.
Black Friday was truly that for some folks. There was an argument and a shootout in a Toys R Us store here in California.
There was also a death in New York. A Wal-Mart employee was unlocking the doors when the shoppers pressed in, broke the doors themselves, and literally stampeded over the employee, killing him. Later on, many of them refused to leave when the police tried to close the store. Some said they'd been on line since Thursday, and weren't leaving.
This is just one reason why I don't do midnight movie openings and opening day sales for books. People get crazy at things like this.
There's now a petition asking that Barack Obama apologize for the Democrat's racist past.
From the top of the page:
We recognize that this is likely too much to ask of the oh so "racially sensitive" Democrats who want us to ignore their racist past and failed socialism that have caused so much harm to black Americans. So we will not hold our breath waiting for their response.
But then, you never know, do you?
Brin's trip has been postponed. That gives me a little more time to get the place cleaned up.
But for now, lunch calls. And then, work.
Be seeing you.

Failed socialism? Like what, welfare? Home loans out of the CRA? The petition sponsors aren't actually suggesting that the offended parties want to engage in hard work and no form of financial aid?
