Something's In The Bag

2009-03-25 - 11:36 a.m.

In the Today's Title Dept.:

I've been using a vinyl bag to carry my drum stands. This is a bag that was meant for carrying baseball bats. The anchor points for the strap have torn off completely, and I've been checking the local sporting good stores for a replacement. A good cloth/canvas bat bag runs about $50.

I'm not nearly as much of a comparative shopper as Brin is. I don't compare a bunch of brands - maybe just a couple. I don't check several websites for lowest price...although if it's an item on eBay, I will compare several totals (price + shipping) for the best deal.

So I asked Brin to use her Google Fu to research a new bag for me. Within six hours (five of those spent taking a nap, but I understand that) she found one on eBay that will work very nicely. It's a professional-grade mic stand bag with a padded shoulder strap and a zipper down the length of the bag (the zipper means I can lay things into the bag instead of sliding them in one end - that will keep the stands from getting jammed up when I unpack them).

Total cost to me? About $33 total, including shipping.

Sometimes you just have to ask for the help of an expert. Thanks again, Brin.

Apparently the Chinese government has has blocked YouTube access due to a video of someone being beaten to death by Chinese policemen. The Chinese government claims the video is a fake concocted by the Dalai Lama.

Are you sure it wasn't this NSFW video?

Once again, a show from my childhood comes to DVD. Anyone remember Monster Squad, starring Fred "Gopher" Grandy?

Ark II. Space Academy.

So where the hell is Ellery Queen??

===

Time to get going.

Be seeing you.

I'm with you. Where's Ellery Queen? (In the meantime, though it's on hiatus, do look for Jim's son Timothy in TNT's series 'Leverage.')
