Baseball Has Been Very Very Good To Me

2006-05-13 - 8:01 p.m.

Just saw Tim Salmon of the Angels knock in his 1000th RBI.

Only he and Garrett Anderson have more than one thousand RBIS in club history.

And this from a player they weren't sure could perform this year.

Way to go, Fish!

Speaking of the Angels, I got to meet Rory Markas the other night. He's the voice of the Angels on the local ESPN affiliate. He used to do sports for KNX 1070. We both agreed that KNX had gone downhill since the station fired longtime GM George Nicolaw. Neither of us listen to it anymore.

He was kind enough to give me an autograph. A very nice man.

And, speaking of baseball...

As of this posting, Barry Bonds is at 713.

It wouldn't bother me at all if every single MLB pitcher agreed to intentionally walk Bonds' ass, just to keep him from breaking the record.

Bonds is an asshole, IMHO. He was one of the first who offered to be tested anywhere anytime. Then, when random testing was implemented, he suddenly got a lawyer to get him out of it.

Sign seen within the last week at a SF Giants game: "BABE RUTH DID IT ON BEER AND HOT DOGS".

Can I get a "hell, yeah"?

===

Well, off to the shower before another gig. Be seeing you.
