This cold is kicking my butt. But it may not be a cold; it may be some kind of allergic reaction. No fever, but I have a sore throat, headache and cough.

I went to pick up some of those Claritin quick-dissolve pills, and the store was completely out. I had to get the generic equivalent, the house brand. The pills are smaller and don't dissolve as quickly.

Then I slept until about 5:30 when I woke up with solidly clogged sinuses. When you use a CPAP, your nose has to be somewhat clear or you don't breathe. So I woke up and used some Afrin, and sat at the computer for a bit until I was ready to go back to bed...until I woke up for good at 12:20.

Brin gave me some bad news - Barbaro has been put to sleep. His injuries just were too severe for him to live without serious pain.

I know how that feels - in 2002 I had to have my beloved cat Midnite put to sleep when he developed kidney cancer. The decision really comes down to this - would you keep him alive for HIS sake, or YOURS?

But now Barbaro is running in the fields, as all out as he can...racing to beat the devil.

Probably with a cat on his back. "Wow, this is what it's like to be a cheetah!"

Just found out I'm paying for a digital cable box and remote that I don't need. I don't have digital cable, and have no plans to get it. I've looked at the digital channels, and I'd only want two of them - BBC-A and GSN. And I'm not paying an extra $40/month for two channels.

Besides, there are some who say I watch too much TV as it is.

Wow. Brin AND National Gorilla Suit Day. I don't know if I can take it all. But I shall endeavor to do so.
