Taking Care Of Business

2007-05-07 - 12:56 p.m.

Quiet weekend here. Jim, the new roommate, was in and out...so I had the place to myself most of the time.

Watched a lot of Monty Python and scratched.

Sunday night, however...I got down to business. I ensconced myself in the armchair, got appropriate munchies and soda, and sat down to watch Return Of The King. I'd seen the first two, but just never got around to watching the third one.

Oh. Wow.

I never saw any of the trilogy in theatres. Now I kinda wish I had. I'd tried to read the books a long time ago, and actually fell asleep during The Two Towers. There were just passages and passages of descriptions and nothing happens.

One upside to me watching it at home: it was easier to take a break. The extended version - the one I have, the one where the case looks like a blue book - is four hours long. Granted, the end credits take up 25 minutes, but STILL...

In the news:

A plot to steal the body of Abraham Lincoln is revealed.

An Austrailian think tank has come up with a way for people to stop hurting the environment: don't have kids. (I know I'm doing MY part.)

And here's another interesting shirt design.

Well, I need to get some stuff taken care of. Brin is coming down for another visit, so it's time to do some cleaning-up.

Be seeing you.
