Somebody's Watching Me

Spent yesterday at home, doing home-type things - laundry, dishes and such.

I also got around to watching my DVDs of the Britsh version of Whose Line Is It Anyway?. How does it compare to the American version? Well, the first two seasons were pretty much the same. They tended to play the same games, in the same order. Ryan Stiles begins making appearances in the show's second season. (I believe Colin Mochrie begins showing up in the third season. Hopefully those will be out soon.) Series regular John Sessions comes off as very pretentious, self-absorbed and obnoxious, often continuing his improvisation past host Clive Anderson's buzzer. Thankfully - IMHO - Sessions appears less frequently in season two, and he's gone after two appearances in season three.

Tony Slattery is of course his usual semi-perverted self. In the classic game "World's Worst", he gives this example of the World's Worst person to invite to a party:

I just gathered you all here to say that, because of me...you've all got gonorrhea!!!

That's tame compared to the silliness he does later in the series. Trust me.

Beyond that, it's Friday the 13th. Not much else to say.

And I have things to do. People to see. And so on.

I've enjoyed both versions of this series for so many years now; I'm glad some of it is finally on DVD.
