![]() Warmth Of The Sun 2007-08-15 - 11:39 a.m. Well, it seems Brin not only brought the warm weather, she brought the HOT weather. Temperatures hit 100 yesterday, and the humidity is like walking through a gelatinous cube. Well, she's only here for another week. Heh heh. === In the Bullshit Is Also Cyclical Dept.: This column from the Washington post notes that global warming doomsayers have been around for quite awhile:
The 1922 article, obtained by Inside the Beltway, goes on to mention "great masses of ice have now been replaced by moraines of earth and stones," and "at many points well-known glaciers have entirely disappeared." "This was one of several such articles I have found at the Library of Congress for the 1920s and 1930s," says Mr. Lockwood. "I had read of the just-released NASA estimates, that four of the 10 hottest years in the U.S. were actually in the 1930s, with 1934 the hottest of all." And this was long before SUVs or Al Gore, gang! === The Imus flap continues. Imus and CBS reached a settlement for about $20 million. This was based on Imus' remaining contract. Imus also is in negotiations with WABC to get back on the air. Neal Boortz looked at it this way: Now, one of the Rutgers players is suing Imus for an "undisclosed amount". I'm not saying she doesn't have the right to sue. What I am saying is that it's interesting that she waited until after Imus reached the settlement with CBS. If she felt Imus' comments constituted "slander and defamation of character", why didn't she sue months ago? Interesting bit of timing. === The suggestion comes that "Christians should refer to God as 'Allah' to promote better relations with Muslims"...and it's coming from a Dutch Catholic bishop. Interesting bit of caving in. === The plan for today is lunch and then work. And NOT melt. Shower's free. Be seeing you. === ![]()
