Work-A-Day World

2007-09-03 - 12:02 p.m.

Firstly, Happy Labor Day. Enjoy all the barbecue and parades and parties.

Me, I get to celebrate by going in to work.

So the ball game was a nail-biter.

The Angels had a 5-4 lead going into the top of the 8th. Set-up man Scot Shields loaded the bases, and then gave up a grand-slam to Ranger Hank Blalock to make it 8-4.

In the bottom of the 9th, the Angels came roaring back and made it 8-7. It got down to Garrett Anderson at bat, with the bases loaded and two out...and he struck out on a checked-swing call that had manager Mike Scioscia cursing on-screen (but off-mic).

Then I watched some more Doogie and just kicked back.

===

When I went to bed, it was 79 degrees.

When I woke up at 11:30am, it was 102.

Thirty minutes later, it was 104.

There's supposed to be a cooling trend starting tomorrow.

Can't get here soon enough.

===

Well, off to air-conditioned work.

Stay hydrated out there, and bring sunblock.

Be seeing you.
