Only A Lad

2008-04-30 - 9:13 a.m.

Gonna go see the Angels game tonight, so I'm working a day shift. Roommate Jim is taking advantage of my absence and bringing a date over.

The temperature has gone from baste-me-while-I-bake to turn-the-fan-off-I'm-freezing. Much better.

So after the Sean Bell verdict, "Reverend" Al Sharpton threatens to "close down the city". There were protests all weekend long in the streets. Barack Obama comes out saying that violence isn't necessary for people to express their viewpoints.

So Sharpton says he's disappointed in what Obama is saying, and Obama is "grandstanding in front of white people".

This is what we'll look forward to in an Obama presidency, gang: if Obama does anything that Sharpton (or Jackson, et al) doesn't think supports their views, Obama is "grandstanding for the whites"...and any criticism of Obama will be viewed as "racist" because he's back.

Between this and his constant "apologies" for Jeremiah Wright, I wonder how many folks wish they could take back their votes in the primaries.

The UN is forming a task force to "tackle global food prices".

Well, that'll fix it - we all know how wonderful the UN is at solving problems.

===

From Fark.com: A South Carolina teen has been implicated in a school bombing plot.

He told authorities that he "wanted to die in the explosion, go to heaven, and kill Jesus".

Yeah. Good luck with that.

In Florida, a teacher was arrested for having sex with a student.

This was her third arrest. In six weeks. Must be something in the water.

Oh, and she was arrested by detectives when she left the house of the student. They picked her up as she was getting into her boyfriend's truck.

Congrats to HIM - not only is she cheating on you, she's doing it with a middle-schooler...and using YOUR truck.

===

A car thief told CNN that "it's fun to do bad things".

He's seven years old.

And there's your title link.

===

Well, I'm up early. I think I'll go get breakfast before work.

And then...live baseball.

Be seeing you.

Anybody who would reverse their vote for Obama or change their mind about voting for him just because a couple of insane men of the cloth make degoratory statement about him doesn't impress me as being too intelligent.

There's a lot of things about BOTH candidates that have come out since the primaries - I'm sure there are folks who voted for Hillary that wish they could change their vote now.
