Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)

2008-07-30 - 1:30 p.m.

First off, many thanks to the folks who e-mailed me good wishes after yesterday's 5.4 quake. Nothing broke permanently, and Solange has recovered.

Also, thanks to Brin and Bob Lai for mentions in their respective blogs.

I don't remember when I said this, but it's now coming to pass. House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) is saying that "African-Americans are disproportionately impacted by the effects of climate change economically, socially and through our health and well-being".

This all is coming from a "climate justice" advocacy group called the Environmental Justice and Climate Change Initiative. This "climate justice" group (???) wrote a report which contains the following:

"Though far less responsible for climate change, African-Americans are significantly more vulnerable to its effects than non-Hispanic whites ... Health, housing, economic well-being, culture, and social stability are harmed from such manifestations of climate change as storms, floods, and climate variability."

So not only are blacks hurt more by global warming, they're also victims of evil white people! Two for one, gang!

The only surprise here is that it didn't come out of Sharpton's mouth first.

One other thing: the article mentions that J. Andrew Hoerner, one of the co-authors of this report, told the Business & Media Institute that "solutions to climate change should be designed in a way so investors don't reap all the benefits."

So the government should get involved? Watch costs to skyrocket. And if he doesn't want anyone to make a profit, then His Goreness better close down his "carbon credits" company.

A Mexican citizen, in this country illegally, deals and trafficks in drugs and hires hit men to murder two people. Then, before this guy is sentenced to 25-to-life, he demands a new trial and claims his constitutional rights were violated because his lawyer didn't speak Spanish, there were no Mexican-Americans on the jury, and the books in the jails law library arent written in Spanish.

The judge called "bullshit" and sentenced him.

Good for the judge. This scumbag is in the United States illegally. He has no constitutional rights.

Well, there's much to do today.

Be seeing you.
