![]() Water Of Love 2008-11-12 - 1:04 p.m. I hope everyone had a nice relaxing Veteran's Day. I had to work, and I knew we would be busy. And we were, until about 9:30. At that point, folks realized that school and work would be happening the next day...and the building emptied almost completely. Today I'll get some things done that I couldn't do over the last two days. That's how it goes sometimes - you take care of customers and put off things that you don't have time for. === Forgot to mention - there was a game group meeting on Sunday. I got to play a couple new games, including The Great Divide. By placing tiles, players direct river flows and score points based on getting the water to flow to the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean. But here's the fun part - The Great Divide was created by a gentleman named Allen Doum, who is a member of this gaming group. How cool is that, to be taught how to play a game by the guy who invented it? Yes, he wiped me out, but so what? It's still a cool thing. Allen told me that this is something he's worked on for a long time, tweaking and adjusting...a true labor of love. I'm extremely pleased for him, and I will ultimately be picking up a copy for myself. It's an easy-to-learn tile-placement game. If you're into that kind of game, pick one up. === P. J. O'Rourke talks here about how badly Republicans have screwed up over the last twenty-eight years. === There's a place called the Bakken Formation in North Dakota and Montana that has huge deposits of oil - and new studies show it may have twenty-five times more oil than were estimated in 1995. Gee, if we drilled in Bakken and in ANWR... Oh, wait - Nancy Pelosi says the idea of more domestic drilling is a "hoax". Never mind. === Okay. Gonna grab some lunch and then head to work to get things done. Be seeing you. === ![]()
