It's A Small World

2009-04-06 - 10:53 a.m.

Everyone have a good weekend? Excellent.

Here at Chez Too Old, there was lots of rest and napping. Between my work schedule and the heat that can knock Brin sprawling, we just couldn't get up the energy to do anything.

We finally made it to Disneyland last night. And it was there that I learned something very interesting: Brin had never ever been on It's A Small World before.

Yeah, that's what I said.

So we watched the 10pm clock strike and got in line. How did she like it? Go read her review.

The wind kicked up this weekend, causing my allergies to bloom. My nose is running and there are nasal tickles that make me sneeze.

Sometime today we're going to grab some Claritin for me and see if that does any good.

We got a letter from my landlord. A previously-announced rent increase is finally going to happen.

No worries. It's financially do-able.

Bob is going into the hospital THIS week for the bypass surgery on his leg, and it seems his big toe is going to be removed.

I told him to wear a toe tag that said "gone to market", which made him laugh.

We also got word from the bar owners. They now only want us to play on alternate Fridays...for only eight weeks...then "we'll see how it goes".

Somehow, we went from we-want-you-for-Fridays-and-Saturdays-so-don't-make-any-plans to "we'll see how it goes".

We're planning to grab lunch at Home Town, so we need to get going.

Shower's free.

Be seeing you.

First, back in November, the people rebuilding the bar said that they wanted The Bob Chance Band to appear exclusively there, on Fridays and Saturdays. Then somewhere along the line, it became Fridays only. Then most recently, you guys were offered a 'trial' of eight fridays over sixteen consecutive weeks. So, basically, before the bar has even re-opened and proven itself worthy of the presence of the best bar band in OC, they're getting so big for their britches that they are willing to offer you a tryout??? After you guys played there when it was Cero's on Fridays and Saturdays for YEARS? Excuse me while I roll my eyes. To top it off, they kept saying they wanted exclusive rights to your performances which means Bob did not think more networking in pursuit of additional jobs was neccessary. If Bob weren't a gentleman, he'd have an ironclad loss of income lawsuit against these folks.
