Well, I spoke too soon yesterday.

No sooner did I post than I found Laila in the LitterMaid, all stretched out because she can't get her cast into position...and peeing all over the floor.

I'm now at the point where this is down to a VERY minor annoyance. Really. She's trying to use the box. It's not like she's still spraying onto my screen doors. She's honestly trying to go in the right place.

Any of you who have had broken legs know how tough it is to use a HUMAN sandbox when you can't bend your knee. You do the best you can and hope your aim is good.

Right now, Laila's aim stinks - literally. But she's TRYING to be good.

Tomorrow I take her in for an all-day check-up. Then the vet will tell me if I'VE been doing the right stuff.

Solange has been coming up to Laila, crouching down for a bit...and then leaping with a ROWR...and then walking away with that I-meant-to-do-that cat-i-tude.

Maybe she's trying to play with Laila. Laila, of course, has her leg in a cast and a lampshade collar on. Playtime is not in her plans.

My next door neighbor - who had also been feeding Laila when she was well - knocked on my door and handed me $40 towards the vet bill.

How cool is that.

Well, I will need to go in to work for a little while. Minor stuff, but they need me. It's only for a couple hours. AND I get paid.

But most of my time will be spent here with the two kittehs, watching them get used to each other.

And helping Laila with her toilette.
