Words Get In The Way

2009-07-31 - 1:01 p.m.

I did wind up going to the Park last night.

And I did what I planned to do - I walked and rode, rode and walked.

And I had a good time.

Before I went to the Park, I got some good news.

I had purchased a DVD set of a classic anime series. I had only seen the first two parts, and wanted to see the rest. The DVDs were scarce, and expensive.

Well, I found a complete region-free set online that contained the entire series - and for a very reasonable price. The concern was the translation. Sometimes region-free DVDs of anime have really bad translations on the subtitles - I mean, sometimes the Engrish translations are really bad...and there's always the chance that you'll see something really strange.

I checked one particular scene in the first part, and it turns out this is the same translation as my video tape - the good one, where the dialogue make sense.

So it turned out to be a good purchase.

The series? Project A-ko.

Got a phone call from my dad today. He lives on the east coast, but is in town for the annual family reunion, which will be in the San Diego area tomorrow.

I won't be able to attend this year, due to the band gig. Dad understands, since he used to play clubs himself.

He's going to try to visit with me at some point before he heads back.

Okay. I have things to do before I have to get ready for work.

Be seeing you.
