Dry

2009-09-17 - 1:05 p.m.

I got up far too early yesterday morning, so I spent most of yesterday groggy and meh.

Today I slept better.

I'm continuing to cut back on the cat's dry food. Right now, I only put out the feeder when I'm at work.

When I come home in the evenings, I give them wet food and take away the dry (I do it while they are distracted and slurping up the wet food). I've been extending the time that they've been without dry food - right now, it's been about fourteen hours.

Solange is fine. Laila follows me all over the apartment, hoping I'm going to the kitchen to feed her.

I read an article in the paper about cat feeding. Feral cats are usually lean because they spend more time hunting than eating. Laila has gained four pounds in the five months she's been here. I've watched her get up and go to the dish every time I've gotten up. So I'm trying to cut back and help her lose some weight.

Here's hoping.

Day off. Laundry and Angels baseball.

I'll probably sneak out and get some chicken breasts to go with the Shake 'N' Bake that's in the cupboard.

And maybe more Dragnet.

Be seeing you.
