I Know Him So Well

Small post today.

For the start of a holiday break, work was very quiet.

There was a bit of fun, though - a gentleman representing a group of folks tried to hustle me into giving him a deeper discount than our regular group discount.

And the hustle wasn't even imaginative:

Him: This is Golfland, right?
Me: Yes, we're part of Golfland Entertainment.
Him: Oh, well I know the owner of the Golfland in Arizona.

What makes that hilarious is that Gary - the owner of our Arizona location - was standing less than five feet away from me, talking to Walter.

The guy then tried to convince me that our GM was involved in his "organization" - but he couldn't remember the GM's name. He then backed up, saying that maybe our GM had just donated to his organization.

When I told him that I had to have some kind of authorization from the GM to give any kind of deeper discount, the guy went outside to discuss it with his group. They wound up leaving.

I later told Gary and Walter about it, and they laughed.

It was cloudy and clear when I came home.

Two hours later, it was pouring.

Forty-five minutes after THAT, it had stopped raining.

And now it's windy, with more wind forecasted.

Brr.
