![]() Citizen 2010-03-10 - 12:00 p.m. The temperatures have dropped again. It's getting down into the low 40s at night and the low 60s during the afternoon. It's also been windy, so that doesn't help. It was bad enough that, when I went to the Chinese buffet last night, I asked to sit far away from the door because I felt the cold wind blow when it opened. Let's face it - eating is no fun when an icy cold wind blows on your back every time the door is opened. === The wind also affected the Angels-Padres exhibition game. There were some technical difficulties, and the ball was blown all over the place. The Angels wound up winning 6-5. Today they play Cincinnati. === Speaking of the Angels... Congratulations and kudos to former Angel Vlad Guerrero on becoming a citizen of the United States on February 19th. Well done, sir. And welcome to the greatest nation in the world. === Nancy Pelosi can't be serious. In a speech at the 2010 Legislative Conference for National Association of Counties, Pelosi gave this gem of a line:
Read that again, and note the first part: "But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy." Y'know, I could've sworn the President promising that all bills would be available online for public review before they were signed into law. Well, he's really fumbled a great deal on that one. Madam Speaker, there are some of us who'd like to know what's in the bill before it's signed, thank you very much. We, the citizens that will have to follow this law (remember, Congress is exempt), have a right to know. === Corey Haim passed away at age 38. I don't think I've ever seen any of his work, not even Lost Boys. === Okay, I have things to do. Be seeing you. === ![]()
