I Told You So

2010-04-27 - 12:36 a.m.

And now we present the EARLY Tuesday morning edition of the Too Old To Be Cool news desk.

===

First, here's what Solange looked like before I took her to the vet.

After three days of taking my life in my hands and putting drops in her eye, here's how she looked Sunday morning.

Now, I am under orders from the vet to give her these drops for two weeks. That makes sense - when I had an infection, I was told to take my medicine for ten full days to make sure it was thoroughly quashed.

I can do this, despite how much Solange hates it.

Some good things happened Monday at work.

Firstly, I and my assistants got all the video games collected BEFORE opening. We haven't been able to do this since Jason took over last month. So we're really starting to mesh as a group.

Second, an old friend from high school came in with a friend. I literally hadn't seen her in almost thirty years. We got to sit and catch up for a bit. It's always nice to know that someone who was your friend long ago is still on this side of the dirt.

Thirdly, at the end of my shift Jason shook my hand and thanked me for staying a little later to take care of some customers.

It was a good day.

Speaking of high school...

During my incarceration high school days, I was in choir for all four years.

Okay, now that you're all done giggling...okay.

When I was in choir my freshman year, there was a group of three seniors who (unlike a lot of the OTHER seniors in the entire school) really went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Their names were Mark, Joe, and Marc.

Anyway, Marc wound up becoming somewhat famous in the world of television. What I didn't know was that he was on a game show.

Let's go to the video!

(BTW, I haven't seen him since high school - so don't ask me to put you in touch with him or any of the famous folks he knows. If I could do that, I'd have Teri Hatcher's autograph by now.)

===

I've now seen the first two episodes of Doctor Who with the new Doctor, Matt Smith. Four episodes have been shown in the UK.

The response has been almost universally positive.

I told you so.

===

Like this will ever happen.

===

Okay. I have to be at work in about eight hours, so it's bedtime.

Be seeing you.
