This week, forty years ago, a classic television series debuted.

Though there were some fans during its initial run, it wasn't a critical success and was canceled fairly quickly. It can still be found in syndication, and is in fact starting a new syndication run here in southern California. All the seasons are available on DVD, if you're willing to pay between $80-90 per.

It's one of those few shows where even non-fans can name the primary cast members.

Nope, it's NOT Star Trek.

Along with "Trek" and "That Girl"...came THIS.

Gotcha.

===

Well, I didn't get to see all of the game yesterday...which is all right, because the Angels got mangled, 9-0.

I heard up to the eighth inning in the car on the way to work. White Sox pitcher Freddy Garcia was pitching a perfect game, and the Angels' fans, having resigned themselves to the loss, started pulling for Garcia to get the Angels out and make history.

However, Angels' second baseman Adam Kennedy got a hit and the perfect game was lost. But Garcia did get a shut-out and a one-hitter, which is also impressive.

The Angels are in Texas tonight. Maybe another pizza-and-O'Doul's time.

AFTER my walk.

===

If you actually want to see me in action (so to speak), head over to BobChance.com. I'm in two sections (both are video): The "Off The Wall TV" and "The Band". (By the way, I'm the one singing in the "Band" video. Since it's Bob's site, I would have preferred to have Bob's vocals be at the forefront, but [according to the webmaster] that's the only really useable footage.)

And before you ask: Yes, I perform as Dave Murphy. Remember, we're in a bar band, and Murphy is a lot easier to remember and pronounce than my given last name.

It's also an homage. I'll tell you about it someday.

One last item: The TV show video is NOT SAFE FOR WORK. For one simple reason: at one point, for about four seconds, I have my shirt off. Sca-ree.

===

That's all for now. Get out and exercise a bit.

Be seeing you.
