![]() Add It Up 2008-10-09 - 1:53 p.m. I've got a gig on Saturday, so I'm working today instead. At least the temperature has dropped some. It's back down into the 80s after a couple days in the 100s and high 90s. === Barack Obama seems to be trying to distance himself from ACORN - so much so that articles that mention Obama's work with ACORN are being pulled from websites. Stanley Kurtz talks about it. ACORN is being charged in several states with voter fraud. And it's mentioned in a link in this story that Obama's campaign has paid ACORN over $800,000 for its "get out the vote" efforts. Again, I don't know if Obama authorized this - but it's sure making him look bad. === Remember when I said yesterday that Obama wants to cut taxes for 95% of Americans, when 55% don't pay any taxes? Here's a video from CNBC that discusses Obama's tax policies. It asks a good question: Why does someone making $249k/yr get a check, and someone making $250k/yr have to pay more taxes? According to the article, by the way, it's 47% who don't pay taxes. I suspect there's a margin of error at work, but a difference of eight percentage points doesn't change the basic question. === Now I must get ready for work. Tomorrow will be the rush-around-and-get-shit-done day. Be seeing you. === ![]()
