![]() Blow Away 2007-10-22 - 12:42 p.m. Well, the winds are blowing here in SoCal. A mini-golf-and-dinner meeting with the Mark & Brian newsgroup turned into dinner-and-stay-inside. When I woke up this morning there was a fine layer of dust all over the apartment. I spent awhile cleaning up before the dust could drive Brin's and my allergies into full attack mode. That's up here. My parents, who live in the San Diego area, had to be evacuated from their home as a safety precaution. Everybody got out, including the two dogs, and they are staying with my aunt. According to the Weather Channel, this blowing over will blow over in a day or so. Then I can clean for real. === Several of today's entries have to do with morality and people's perceptions. In Iran, the police are instructed to crack down on "immoral behavior", citing couples whose behavior is is considered inappropriate - even if the couples are married (YES, to each other...sheese). Married couples are pretty much forbidden to do anything but hold hands. Kissing is verboten. To quote an old movie: "So I guess a blowjob is out of the question, right?" === Hugo Chavez has put forth a statement saying the Roman Catholic Church is "morally unacceptable". He'd know, right? === J. K. Rowling - remember her? - has outed a character in her Harry Potter novels - Albus Dumbledore is gay. So? === If it's Monday, it must be time for Mark Steyn. === Yesterday I mentioned that John Stossel was taking on Al Gore's global warming machine on 20/20. Here's part of the show. === Well, time to dust off lunch. Shower's free. Be seeing you. === ![]()
