Boom

I got out and about on Friday - running errands, meeting up with my brother, etc.

While I did that, I caught the end of the final show of Frosty, Heidi and Frank. Lots of tears, lots of toasting. Lots of goodbyes. They also put up a farewell video to their fans at their official site.

I also caught the final Leykis show. At the very end, he played this classic tune and said the lyrics were a perfect fit...and they are.

Then the crowd in the studio screamed "BLOW US UP, TOM!!" and there was the Leykis' SFX of a huge explosion.

Boom.

Then...silence. A radio call-sign. A bunch of static with an obviously pre-recorded we're-gonna-be-so-cool radio announcer mixed in. After about five minutes, AMP RADIO was announced...and they started playing some hip-hop tune.

And the radio went off, and the Advil went in.

Saturday I worked and slept.

Sunday, a game night was announced, so I went and learned a bunch of new stuff: Royal Turf, Stone Age, Space Alert, and The 3 Commandments. We finished up with Guillotine, an old favorite.

At that point, I saw that it was 1:45am. Even though there were still folks who were ready for more, I was wiped out. So I said my goodbyes and headed home.

On the way, I stopped off at Del Taco for a breakfast combo. When I bit into one of the hash browns, I found out that they were hollow - no potatoes, just the oily crust. Not just one - ALL FIVE. I'll be having words with a manager, and soon.

Then I laid down and boom - dream time.

Due to some bizarre scheduling conflicts, I'll be going in to work for a few hours on Thursday. I usually have Thursday off, but we'll be able to avoid some problems if I go in and work for a few hours in the afternoon.

And, it'll help with the nine-shift problem I talked about way back here.

I'm gonna grab some lunch and head off to work.
