So Laila came home. Here's how she looks without the splint you're accustomed to seeing:
And here's a close-up of her shaved leg:
She's limping, and probably will for at least two weeks. She's started climbing onto things like the bed, and clawing the back of my computer chair (which is already shredded). She's trying to inspect everything that she couldn't get into while wearing the splint - in other words, being the typical curious cat. The big thing for me was the litter box. But I shouldn't have worried - she pawed at the litter, and then took a couple steps forward and peed right into the sand. This makes me feel much better about being gone to work. === She is eating and drinking a great deal. The vet says this is normal, and should slow down after awhile. If it continues, she'll go in for a urinalysis to make sure her kidneys are okay. We'll burn that bridge when we come to it. === Beyond that, nothing else to report. I've been going to bed earlier and waking earlier. All seems well. Be seeing you.
